Nicolas George Hayek (19 February 1928 – 28 June 2010)
Co-founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Swatch Group, with principal headquarters in Biel/Bienne.
Hayek played a decisive role in the recovery of the Swatch Group with its watch brands Swatch, Blancpain, Omega, Longines, Rado, Tissot, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, Pierre Balmain, Calvin Klein, Flik Flak, Breguet and Lanco. The strategies he developed in the early 1980s led to the success of the entire Swiss watch industry and regained its leading position worldwide since 1984.
Hayek is also credited with having a fundamental role in the creation of the Smart Car, a small European car created for inner city use by Mercedes Benz. Original names for the car revolved around the Swatch name — and even today aspects of the car such as its interchangeable body panels are clearly linked with the Swatch philosophy. The name "Smart" was derived by adding the first letters of Swatch and Mercedes to the word "art".
Hayek wore several watches on both his wrists at all times.

He promised that the Swatch would be the cheapest and best watch of all time. It would completely change buying behaviour because in future women would also buy a Swatch to go with their clothes and the watch would become a fashion accessory.
Obecao je da ce Swatch biti najeftiniji i najbolji sat svih vremena. Skroz ce promeniti ponasanje-odnos kupaca, jer ce zene takodje kupovati Swatch da se slaze sa njihovom garderobom i sat ce postati neophodni modni dodatak.

Cuvena recenica iz cuvenog filma, jos cuvenijeg glumca proslog veka, kada je bio, ili ti predstavljao osnovnu mernu jedinicu za pravog muskarca. Da to su upravo oni koji nista ne prepustaju slucaju.
Naravno, u vreme nekih nasih bliskih dragih predaka, mozda su za neke to bili deke i bake, a za neke ocevi i majke.
Da nije snimio nijedan drugi film, i sam način na koji je odglumio Reta Batlera, južnjačkog džentlmena, seksualno raskalašnog pokvarenjaka u "Prohujalo s vihorom", obezbedio bi mu večnu slavu.

MAČO imidž sa filma postao mu je za vreme Drugog svetskog rata i pravi imidž. Klerk Gebl se prijavio kao dobrovoljac u američku vojsku, dobio čin majora i na kraju orden vazduhoplovstva za izuzetne zasluge i rezultate u bombarderskim zadacima.
Romantični heroj, bilo da je igrao kauboja ili plejboja, ljubavnika ili avanturistu.

One of the most stunning projects of the past, and one of the most beautiful supecars of all time, was the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, launched in 1954. The car was as unexpected as it was amazing, packing a great punch and delivering it in style – a true landmark of the automotive world.
In terms of security, it sports a 3 digit personal code system. After the code is put in, the mechanism swings aside revealing the two marvelous pieces of engineering that power the gadget – the two motors that rotate 3 clocks each.
As it still remains a great source of inspiration for other industries, even of today, Döttling have designed an exquisite watch case that draws ideas from the fabled vehicle.

We can definitely say that this contraption is some sort of German tribute to those few engineers who had put together the marvelous 300 SL Gullwing, almost 60 years ago.
